Customer Engineer

Be the first technical responder for every customer issue. Own POC bugs end-to-end so engineering can stay focused on long-running work.

About the Role

We're hiring our first Customer Engineer to be the technical face of ZeroPath. You will join every POC call, own customer-reported bugs end-to-end, and keep the engineers building the product focused on long-running work instead of fire drills. Part forward-deployed engineer, part technical support, with deep customer exposure: the person who hears a problem on a Tuesday standup and has a fix in their hands by Wednesday morning. You report to the CTO and work directly with the founders. AEs own commercial POC progress; your job is making sure nothing technical ever blocks a deal or a renewal. Success means a sub-2-hour median first response on customer bugs, a clean weekly queue, and zero P0/P1s lingering past 48 hours during an active POC.

What You'll Do

  • Be the first technical responder on every customer issue: debug, reproduce, patch, and ship fixes against real customer code
  • Join every active POC call alongside the AE and a founder, then own the technical actions through to resolution
  • Escalate deeper product issues to engineering and feed customer feedback back into the roadmap
  • Build the playbooks and tooling that let this function scale as the customer base grows
  • Make sure no POC or renewal is ever blocked on an unresolved technical issue

What We're Looking For

  • Background in application security with hands-on experience around SAST, DAST, SCA, or similar code-scanning tools, either building, deploying, or running them inside a security team
  • Strong engineer who can read and reason about code in multiple languages, debug across stacks, and ship fixes without supervision
  • Comfortable being customer-facing: you can hold a technical conversation with a CISO and a senior staff engineer in the same call
  • Organized and responsive: the person on the team who never lets things slip through the cracks

Nice to Have

  • Practitioner experience on an enterprise security team
  • Forward-deployed, sales engineering, or solutions engineering background at an AppSec vendor
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub/GitLab integrations, and SOC 2 / ISO 27001 controls
